NHESS special issue on recent advances in drought and water scarcity monitoring, modeling, and forecasting

We are pleased to announce a Special Issue (SI) entitled “Recent advances in drought and water scarcity monitoring, modeling, and forecasting (EGU2019, session HS4.1.1/NH1.31)“, to be published in the open access journal Natural Hazard and Earth System Sciences (ISSN 1561-8633, eISSN 1684-9981, IF 2.883).

Dr. Brunella Bonaccorso (University of Messina, Italy), Dr. Carmelo Cammalleri (European Commission – Joint Research Centre, Italy), Prof. Athanasios Loukas (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece) and Dr. Heidi Kreibich (Helmholtz Centre Potsdam) will serve as Guest Editors.

The purpose of this SI is to present recent advances and future challenges in drought and water scarcity monitoring, modeling, and prediction capability to improve risk management, adaptation strategies, and resilience to such adverse events.

Submission is open from 1 July 2019 until 30 July 2020, for manuscripts that are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
