We suggest to have a look at the publication “Handbook of Drought Indicators and Indices” by WMO/GWP Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP). 2016.
The pdf of the publication is available here: http://www.droughtmanagement.info/handbook-drought-indicators-and-indices/. It has been translated to Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, French and Russian.
There is also an online version of the Handbook – a searchable database that includes the option to provide comments and additional resources on the indicators and indices – aiming to make this publication a ‘living document’, which we are planning to update based on the experience its readers share with us.
